Crafting Together with All Brands YouTube Hop - Inspired by the love of craft ....? Art journal page idea

Another new month which means another wonderful YouTube Hop with a fantastic bunch of creative people for Crafting Together with All Brands (C2WABs). The theme this month is "Love is in the air" and I have interpreted the theme as being in love with crafting but also keeping to a love theme ...

I made an art journal page and in my video, I had no idea how this was going to turn out and went with the flow. A list of all supplies used is at the bottom of this post.

YouTube Hop details below.

C2WABs YouTube Hop

For my YouTube video I have used the theme to celebrate my love of crafting and have made an art journal page celebrating that fact in design.

A good life is when ...

When I filmed my video, I wanted to do my art journal page with no real plan. I did grab some supplies that I felt would work and that was as far as my planning went. I'm using my new Shady Designs Floral Frames stamp sets for the decorative elements.

I began by adding layers of book papers coloured with gesso & oxide sprays: wild honey & lost shadow, Next I added layers of stamping using a mix of oxides, distress inks & archival inks keeping to the same colours.

The added collage layers were created by stamping on book pages which were first painted with gesso. After cutting them out, I added them to my background.

I added the sentiment, "Make today the day" with black archival ink randomly and then a few doodled lines plus dots. When I finished the video, I hadn't decided on a sentiment but after a few days, I found the quote I wanted to use.

I'm calling this page finished, for now but may revisit it again and add to it. Art journal pages do not always need to be finished finished but pages you can add to over time.

Shady Designs Floral Frames Collection

My next launch of stamps will be on Sunday 12th February - watch this space - and they are designs that work in many different crafting genres. That is really important to me. I don't have one crafting style and love to try and do different things dependant on the mood I feel in that day.

Thank you ever so much for being part of our YouTube Hop today and I hope you enjoyed seeing all the different ways we think of that the theme "love" can be interpreted.

Until next time,

Lou
