Unleashing my inner artist with "Just for Me" art journaling

Art journaling is a wonderful way to express yourself creatively and document your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It's also a great way to de-stress and relax. But what if you're not sure where to start? Or what if you're feeling intimidated by the idea of sharing your art with others?

That's where "Just for Me" art journaling comes in. "Just for Me" art journaling is all about creating art for yourself, with no pressure to be perfect or to share it with anyone else. It's a chance to explore your creativity and to express yourself without judgment.

Not my circus, not my monkeys

Well it's February and yep I did make time for myself. I was thinking of setting myself an alarm for a specific date but actually stopped myself. In my head it felt as if then I was telling me that I had to make something that day and was worried it would add pressure that I was trying to avoid!

This page was inspired by a chipboard mandala piece I found from a box of hidden Dutch Doobadoo pieces. I thought it would look ace used as a stencil/mask.

I have used my distress oxide sprays to make the background and wanted bold, bright colours. I added a bit of over stamping using my own Shady Designs Texture stamps with the same oxide ink.

The main images are from Dina Wakley's Vintage & Sketches collage paper. The hidden messages and expressions, I think, work perfectly with the "not my circus, not my monkeys" quote.

The sentiment "art changes people & people change the world" is also from Dina Wakley. I gave it a quick doodle background. The other bits I added are from my stash: stamped on rice paper & "found" half finished rub-ons.

I know at the beginning of this post I mention about not having to share our "Just for Me" journal pages, however I am doing so. I adore my blog and it charts my creative journey and these pages are a continuing part of that journey.

See you again in March! Until then, take care,

Lou
