Gift card holder - idea #1 - using Ciao Bella Paper Indigo Collection

Gift cards are here to stay but can be such an impersonal present to give to someone. That's when I like to try and think of other ways to make that little piece of plastic look extra special.

Sharing an idea for a gift card holder that could easily work for tickets out to a special event, a surprise trip etc. An idea to make something plain, now magical!

All supplies used are at the bottom of this post.

Making the base card

You will need -

  • 2 x A4 card
  • Score board or score tool + ruler
  • Paper trimmer / guillotine
  • Glue or tape of choice

Cutting guide
  • 1st strip/piece of card - 12cm wide x full length of A4 card
  • 2nd strip/piece of card - 12cm x 21cm long

Joining the two pieces of card

If you right click on each photo, you can then save them to your PC - if you wish - for future reference.

Video/reel

Here is a short video reel showing my finished card design. For this project I have chosen to use Ciao Bella Paper Indigo Collection. Full list of supplies can be found at the bottom of this post.

See all photos below of the finished card if the instructions above are a little "wobbly" !!!

Finished card

For this project I have chosen to use Ciao Bella Paper Indigo Collection. Full list of supplies can be found at the bottom of this post.

Front

I created a closure using a small topper from 6" x 6" Indigo fussy cut pad

Opening the triangle flap

Front panel opened to see inner middle panel/flap. I have created a band across the centre to hold additional items linked to the gift. On reverse there is a decorative panel to write on, add a photo etc

Final centre panel where the gift card or tickets could be placed.

If you have made it down this far, thank you ever so much. I appreciate that there is a lot of content in this post.

I hope that from all the photos & video reel, you can see how I created the gift card holder. It could easily be adapted to be a mini album too or a wonderful way to present theatre / show tickets.

If you have any questions regarding this project idea, drop me a comment below or send me an email and I will try and answer them for you.

Until next time, stay safe & happy crafting,

Lou
