Mixed media Christmas photo frame: create a festive keepsake
Ciao Bella Paper released a beautiful, soft, winter inspired collection called "Cosy Moments" and rather than make a memory book or a folio, I wanted to make a mixed media project.
I have combined the collection with a Kaisercraft MDF photo frame I had to make this finished Christmas decoration.
More details below and a link to the YouTube video showing how.
Close up of my project
I began by covering the base with a coat of white gesso and once dry, a 12" paper, cutting away any excess. I chose a paper that I thought suited the MDF piece.
Next it was adding on all the different cut elements which can be found in the 12" Patterns & Papers Pads plus the 6" Fussy Cut Pad.
I layered them up with gel medium and added texture paste to create a snow effect. To fill gaps, I added stamens and sisal pieces.
I really enjoyed making this project and always wonder why I don't do more 3D items. They transport you in to a different world where you bring in a bit of everything and just keep adding.

Do you make your own decorations at Christmas? I do make a new bauble for the tree each year plus ones for each of the family. I love the personal touch it adds to our family Christmas Tree.
Until next time, take care & see you soon,
