Tag ideas using stamps & dies: creative ideas with Shady Designs

I'm still having fun doing different colour blends using the latest distress colour, lost shadow. This time I have used it with spiced marmalade to create both my backgrounds and stamped elements. A few of my Shady Designs stamps, stencils 7 dies appear too!

May then have got a little carried away ....

Love is a friendship

The background for my tag has been used combining lost shadow & spiced marmalade distress spray stains. Photo step by steps are below.

Main items used -

  1. lost shadow stain, oxide spray, distress ink & embossing glaze
  2. spiced marmalade stain & distress ink 
  3. Shady Designs Frame It With Flowers stamp set
  4. Shady Designs Floral Frames stamp set
  5. Shady Designs Moroccan Trellis stencil
  6. Versafine Clair Nocturne ink pad
  7. kraft tags

Let's make the tag - 



2] Once dry, I stamped the main image from Frame It With Flowers with Versafine Clair Norcturne.            Using the background stamp from the Frame It with Flowers stamp set, stamp with lost shadow              distress ink & then add lost shadow embossing glaze.



3] Stamp lots of floral images using lost shadow & spiced marmalade distress inks. Emboss using the        matching embossing glaze & colour with same inks. Cut out once dry.


4] As an "added extra", stamp smaller flowers, using Versafine Clair Nocturne, & cut out.

Assemble the tag card -

Add main image to tag with3D foam pads or gel medium. Place where you stamped the outline. Colour in any of the outlines peeking out with a black micron pen.


Next layer up other small flowers & leaves; some with 3D foam pads, others flat. Finish by adding a sentiment & a few sequins.


With the flowers that were left, I added them to one corner of my tag to continue the design.

Well I couldn't leave it there once I got the colour bug and then went off & made two other tags. Both similar but not ...!

The main difference on this tag is that I used Shady Designs Ticker Tape #2 die set as main focal piece & not stamped images. I also used a wood grain effect card as my base too.

Live simply, bloom wildly


To change up this design, I added a stamped image from Shady Designs Oval Frame It #2 and rather than emboss the background detail, I stamped in black ink.

Although each tag is very similar, because of the colours used, each a little different.
