Shady Designs A Book for All Occasions Workshop

A wee while ago, I show cased a kit called "A Book for All Occasions". I've been asked if there were videos showing how to create the art journal and there were but I lost all of them! My hubby, when upgrading my PC found them all in a sub-division folder (not sure what that is 😅 ) and that now means I can finally share the workshop.

Workshop full details and what's in the kit, is in further detail below.

Workshop is available HERE

A Book for All Occasions Workshop

This workshop has been designed to work with the A Book For All Occasions Kit

The A Book For All Occasion Workshop can be found HERE and is £15.00 for five hours worth of tuition.

Why so low in price? It's my way of apologising for not getting the workshop up and running sooner.

If you already have Dolly Dimples Crafts Living Hinge die plus Fixing Posts &/or your own rings, the workshop is perfect for you too.

The workshop mainly uses Shady Designs Sur-Round stamp set to create the backgrounds but again easily adapted to suit any of the Shady Designs background building stamp sets eg: Gather TogetherPattern ParadeEncircle or This or That

What will we make?

  • a background using one of the Shady Designs papers included.
    • Swop for a backing paper of your choice. We are using the paper to chose our colours of ink for background building.
  • a background from "scratch" taking inspiration from our first made background
  • showing how to create and use a "mop up" sheet
    • Swap out Dollyboard for rigid card or layers of heavy weight card glued together.
    • Alternatively use a stamp set that you already have.
  • how to use and add fixing posts.
    • Change fixing posts for rings or even ribbon.

Photos below show how the finished book will look once completed -

Additional items used:

  • black inkpad
  • coloured ink pads to match backing paper
  • micron pens
  • white pen (gelly roll, posca etc)
  • gel medium or glue of choice
  • colouring medium of choice (images in workshop coloured with alcohol pens)
  • paint or water brush
  • blending tools or foams
  • stamp blocks or platform
  • scissors or knife
  • die cutting machine

Pre-recorded videos

The workshop is not one continuous video but SEVEN separate videos.

Each part has been pre-recorded so that you can work at the pace that works for you. You can also stop & start each video as many times as you wish.

Once part of the group, the workshop will be there for as long as you are a member.

The workshop videos can be found in a private Facebook Group and the link will be emailed to you.
