The new Tim Holtz Christmas 2023 Idea-ology range has a little bit of everything to work with all our styles of crafting. I love the vintage, kitsch yet modern(ish) vibe.
I didn't know what to "play with" first so ended up using a bit of everything on my home decor project ...

Where to start describing how I made my Christmas House! I began by "wallpapering" the inside with the Idea-ology Backdrops. Next I added my wooden flooring - which is also one of the backdrop papers!
When the glue was dry, I made holes in the back of the house and threaded through the Idea-ology Tiny Lights making sure that each room had at least 1 to 2 lights. I did become a little over fixated with this 😅
I know did make a wee bit of a boo boo and decorated the outside first which made it a bit tricky, at times, to decorate each room. The Idea-ology Layer Frames fitted perfectly to create mini windows.
Using a mix of the Idea-ology Ephemera & Idea-ology Layers + paper Dolls, I added even more decoration to the front of my house.
I also added sentiments from the Idea-ology Christmas stick book to some of the frames and in hidden places inside some of the rooms.
Next came the decorating of the rooms and I had a blast creating different embellishments or using the Idea-ology embellishments. I added one of the Idea-ology bells to some wire, placing it so that the bells clapper could swing. To hide the wire, I added a bow.
I used the Idea-ology metal adornments to decorate inside the rooms. The wreath is hanging from one of the walls & the poinsettia decorating a mini plant pot. I added a few Idea-ology baubles & bells too.
In the top rooms I added presents and a decorative swag with a few of the idea-ology baubles. The other room, I have left empty so I can add some of my own Christmas decorations in there - when I get them down from the loft.
Now to have some fun with a few Idea-ology mini vials adding the Confections & baubles in to a few. They looked so cute! I made a mini tree by cutting the bottom away from an Idea-ology Alpine tree, and added it to one of the rooms.
I also added little bits of glitter to the vials for that extra Christmas sparkle - says someone who isn't really a glitter person! I could have kept adding and adding but did stop myself. I do now want to add a few of our decorations in to the rooms next as think it will make the decor piece even more personal.
Now ... just in case I didn't share enough photos (!), I made a mini reel showing the rooms and house off.
Think that's it but I'm sure there is probably something I missed somewhere! This was one of those projects I lost track of time and became absorbed in the making: I haven't done that for a long while.
Have you seen the new Christmas Idea-ology? Did you see Tim's YouTube live? Oh those makes from his team were jaw droppingly stunning.
Thank you for popping over today and getting to the bottom of this very long post 💙
Until next time, take care,
Lou
