Rook & Roll into creativity: Unveiling Pink Ink's latest stamp set

Calling all card makers, art journal enthusiasts, and creative minds! Pink Ink recently released their newest stamp set, the Rook & Roll stamp set, designed to inspire your imagination. It is part of the Winged Series of stamps.

Rook & Roll into creativity: Unveiling Pink Ink's latest stamp set. Card ideas by Lou Sims.

This versatile stamp set features a stunningly detailed rook design,
in two different sizes & poses, capturing the personality of these intelligent and adaptable birds. I have taken the one idea and then made 3 different cards - all the details are below.

Instructions

Each card actually starts from the same starting point ...

1] Cut a piece of water colour card to measure 4 3/4" x 6 3/4". The finished panel will be mounted on to a 7"x 5"card base.

2] Stamp the larger rook image from Rook & Roll in to the centre of your card panel. This is being used as a visual tool for the next step.

3] With clear ink, stamp the Rook & Roll sentiment from the top to the bottom of your panel in a random manner. Emboss with white embossing powder.

4] Using Pink Ink Ink It inks, add small amounts of colour to your background and spritz with a mister to spread the ink. Leave to dry.

5] Stamp out the rook image on to another piece of card: colour & cut out. You do not have to colour the rook to match your background - go with the flow!

6] Stick your dry background panel to your card base & add your coloured rook image -use 3D foam, gel medium or equivalent to the card.

7] Finish with sentiment and any/or embellishments.

Idea #1

Rook & Roll into creativity: Unveiling Pink Ink's latest stamp set. Card ideas by Lou Sims.

For this card I went for Ink It red & magenta for my background. The rook has been coloured using Ink It inks too. I added the rook to the card front using gel medium & added the Roll & Roll sentiment. As a finishing touch, I stamped, coloured & cut out the hat, placing it on top of the rooks head.

Idea #2

Rook & Roll into creativity: Unveiling Pink Ink's latest stamp set. Card ideas by Lou Sims.

For the background on this card I went for Ink It midnight & turquoise. The rook has been coloured using Ink It inks & pencils. Before adding the rook to the front of my card, I added a black tie (using ribbon). I think it would also look super cool with a scarf!

Idea #3

Rook & Roll into creativity: Unveiling Pink Ink's latest stamp set. Card ideas by Lou Sims.

For the background on this card I went for Ink It yellow & orange. The rook has been coloured using pencils. I added the rook to the card front using gel medium & added the ":et's crow abut your birthday" sentiment. As a finishing touch, I stamped, coloured & cut out the hat, & a chess piece, placing it at the bottom of the sentiment.

Isn't it wonderful how changing just a few things, a card can look completely different. I don't really do traditional batch card making as I get bored far too quickly. However this style of batching making I could do as colour combinations can and are, endless!

I another project to share using the Rook & Roll stamp set & that is an art journal page using, I think, every stamp on the set!

Until next time, take care,

Lou
