Step-by-Step Tutorial:

This tutorial is a written version of my YouTube video which is another resource to help either recreate this card.
  • Create a Background: Begin by blending distress inks around the edge of your 5.5" x 5.5" card to create a vibrant autumnal background. Choose ink colours that remind you of autumn and you know work well together.
  • Stamp the Circles: I have placed the main focal image from the Oh So Circular stamp set in the centre of the background - lightest part as we didn't blended around the edges. I chose to use Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves.
  • Stamp the inner circle: The smaller solid circle stamp, is an ink plate (for want of a better description) which means you can either stamp in a solid colour or go to town with your inks! I decided to stamp first with the lighter distress inks and then again with the darker distress ink concentrating around the edges.

  • Add dimension?: To create a quick textured look, use embossing powder on the image in golds or coppers.
  • Creating your focal point: I have stamped the different accessory stamps on to another piece of card colouring & cutting each out. I also stamp more than I need as a "just in case I may need more" kinda thing!  Also choose a sentiment that suits the card which will be your focal point.

  • Finishing touches: Add any additional embellishments or details to complete your card. I wish I had followed my own advice here as I think a few gold or even green sequins would have been a perfect finishing touch.

Not your colour?

I appreciate that different colours sing to us in different ways, and I didn't want to put you off trying out this card idea so that meant I had to try a different colour .

Doesn't it look completely different in blue! Could even be a winter themed card. I've even shocked myself!

When you think of autumn what are your go to colours? Would love to know if you would choose similar colours to me.

Until next time, take care,

Lou
