A Warm Hug in Every Page: Art Journaling with JMC Designs

Today, I'm excited to share a cozy and comforting art journal page inspired by JMC Designs' heartwarming Hug in a Mug collection. This collection is packed with adorable stamps, ephemera, and papers that are perfect for creating heartwarming and nostalgic art journal spreads ... and perfect for card making too!

For my art journal page, I used the following elements from the Hug in a Mug collection:

• Stamps: Hug In A Mug, Coffee & Chocolate, 
• Ephemera: I used the adorable Mocha Mix Ephemera pieces for added decoration.
• Paper: I selected a few coordinating papers from the Sweet Peppermint A5 paper pad to use to decorate the stamped images - quick colouring!
• Stencils: Buttoned Circles & Evergreen Berries
• Extras: Musical Interlude, Babbling Books & Typed Sentiments stamp sets.

I created the art journal page in my 8" x 8" Pink Pig Art Journal on a Facebook Live in Julia's JMC Crazy Craft Hive Facebook Group. Do adore these journals and think I have nearly every size going 😆😅😄 Not that I collect journals ... much!

Steps:

• Prep Your Page: I added a stencil layer mixing up both stencils using speckled egg, salvage patina & kitsch flamingo distress inks.
• Stamp Your Heart Out: Using the adorable mug & cup stamps from the collection, I stamped on to white card and also patterned papers. I used the papers to help "colour" the images. 

• Add Colour: Using the same distress inks, I added highlights and shadows to the stamped & paper pieced images. Perfect time to add your own personal touch.
• Add some Extras: I also stamped out extra images: books & film strip. These were to help with the story behind my page design.

1. Journaling: Add a personal touch with journaling. I used the Typed Sentiments stamp set as I thought that fitted the page. I added a little around the images and also as separate journaling.
2. Embellish: Finish your page with embellishments from the ephemera packs and a few highlights using white gel pen.
