Botanical Post Series: Soft Watercolour Cards with PI Pencils & Stamps
What’s interesting is that even though each card has its own personality, they all share a common thread: nature meets postmarks. Soft watercolour layers, delicate stamped leaves, and meaningful sentiments come together to create cards that feel personal and crafted with care.
Personal Impressions Postage, Leaves & Flowers Banner
This stamp set is a little powerhouse. You can use it exactly as intended or mix it with other stamps from the Personal Impressions Botanical Series. (And yes, the name is a mouthful - Personal Impressions Postage, Leaves & Flowers Banner stamp set - but I tend to name things exactly what you see!)
I love these red rubber cling stamps because they’re forgiving. You can experiment with paint, inks, sprays, and stencils without worrying about damaging them. That freedom is what makes creating so much fun.

Step-by-Step:
-
Stamp and colour: On a piece of watercolour card, stamp your main image in the centre and colour it with PI Pencils. I love watching the layers build and blend — it’s part of the joy of using these pencils.
-
Add a soft background: Go around the outside of your stamped image with the Sky Blue pencil, applying it quite thickly. Then water it out with a brush. The more water you add, the more dreamy and fluid the colour becomes — almost like a soft sky behind your botanical design.
Add your sentiment: On a separate piece of card, stamp a sentiment from the Be-Leaf Sentiments set and attach it to your card with 3D foam pads for a little lift.
Layer extra details: Stamp a few individual flowers on small pieces of watercolour card. Colour, cut out, and add them to your card. You can let them peek from behind the sentiment, sit alongside it, or even on top — this is where you make creative choices and let your card reflect your style.
Finish your card: Attach your completed panel to a card base. My finished card is 7" x 5" in landscape format.
Can you use this stamp set in art journalling?
Creating this card reminded me how satisfying it is to play with stamps and pencils in a way that’s both structured and experimental. Each card in this series has its own personality, but together they tell a story: soft, botanical, and full of little touches that feel like thoughtful mail delivered from the heart.
I can’t wait to share more cards from this series with you - each one a tiny piece of botanical and postal inspiration.
Until next time, take care,
xxx
