A twist on a gatefold card ...

Happy Friday everyone and I can't believe how quickly this week has flown by. Maybe all the awful windy weather we have been having this week, has blown the days away to make it appear as if we have not had a week! Not sure why I'm moaning because after all it is Friday ...

It is the start of a new challenge over at Polka Doodles Challenges and the theme this fortnight is "Father's Day/anything male". I decided to use one of the pre-coloured design sheets on Work and Play 7 to create my card ... which is sort of but not officially, a gate fold card ...

My overall card size is A5 but I wanted to make the gates different to reflect the theme of the design sheet, "gone fishin' ". One side is designed to be half a fishing jacket ...

and the other side is a fishing theme. Neither gate side fully meets in the middle either and that was because I wanted the fishing image to stand out.

I have added several white panels inside so that you can write in the card so it can be used. All the elements used are found on the design sheet, so the only extra thing I needed to print off was 2 papers.

I do love the design sheets on all the CDs because if you are pushed for time, yo can still create something that looks as if it took ages to make.

Have a great Friday everyone,

What an adorable and creative card! I love how you made the gates a bit different - making one into a fishing vest was very inventive. Thank you for joining us in the Through The Craft Room Door challenge this week.

Underwater Artist Art Journal Page using Marlene's World Collection from Studio Light

I treated myself a long while ago to the fabulous Marlene's World Collection from Studio Light and sadly have to report that it has stayed hidden in a folder since then. Finally, I had some precious "me time" and decided to get the collection and have a play around with a few of the stamps plus collage/paper piece s. It was the sentiment that really "sang to me" 😍 but not like a Sea Siren does ...! A full "how I did it" is below & also a full list of supplies at the bottom of the post.

Legacy Keep Dies from Tonic Studios to make an album page.

Hi everyone. Have you been enjoying Tonic Studios 17th birthday celebrations on Hochanda? Oh my goodness, so many wonderful die collections and Nuvo products to choose from, each as much fun to 'play' with ... oh yes they are, trust me 😏😍😉 This weekend, Jodie is launching a set of dies called 'Legacy Keeper' which are part of the Memory Book range. For my first project share using these dies, I have used them to create an album page for this album - made using Memory Book 2  ...   The front is decorated with the new Treasured Tome A4 embossing folder creating an embossed acetate layer on top. Gotta go off topic here and say did you see Jodie & Janice trying to pronounce the embossing folders name? So very funny ...! Okay, back to the album ... I often create an acetate layer to act as a protective cover to the front of my albums especially if you have a photograph on the front.

Learning to photograph my craft projects featuring Text(ures) stamps by Lou Collins

Do you know what I find the hardest about blogging and sharing on social media? Taking clear, good photographs. It really is a daily struggle & some days, the struggle can be monumental when doing photography editing.   Recently I’ve been following a few wonderful artists & a few companies, who above being creative, also share their hints and tips about how to get the best shots to show case the project you may have spent hours making.   My subject for this post is the card below …
