Deck the Halls with Idea-ology: Creative Christmas Decorations with Tim Holtz - part #2

The magic of Christmas will be soon upon us, and what better way to capture its spirit than with handmade decorations imbued with your unique style? Tim Holtz's Idea-ology offers a treasure trove of festive embellishments, mediums, and techniques, making it the perfect companion for crafting one-of-a-kind Christmas decorations. Unveiling a World of Creative Possibilities:

Tim Holtz Idea-ology offers an endless well of inspiration for crafting unique and captivating Christmas decorations. What I love about these possibilities, is what we create will never be the same as as another persons - truly unique!

Idea #1

For this decoration, I have used a 7" wooden slice as my base to build my Christmas scene. I made a hinge for the Chipboard Baseboard piece, (which is on the reverse) & stuck it in place with gel medium. To hide this, I used a decorative, vintage hessian ribbon, adding a piece to the front too.

 

Next came the fun part - creating all the decorations. The tree has handmade paper flowers, Idea-ology Baubles & Idea-ology Christmas Confections placed in amongst the bristles. The glass vial has a mix of the different confections added to it & a mini tree added to a mini dome.

Once the gel medium was "set", I added a paper doll image to the baseboard piece & began building my Christmas scene. The added extras were some Idea-ology Film Strip Ribbon, small baubles & Idea-ology Bells.

Idea #2

I again started with a 7" wooden slice as my base and another Idea-ology Chipboard baseboard piece. In the aperture, I added a paper doll postcard image. For this scene, I wanted to create a woodland/outdoors theme. The tress were decorated with Distress Snow Paste & stuck in place with gel medium.

I have added a few Idea-ology metal embellishments, pinecones & baubles to cover all my gluing. I also added some bits from an old pot pourri set I had saved and faux stamens.

The deer image is from the Idea-ology Ephemera Pack and again stuck in place with gel medium. I added a bit of hessian ribbon and the same embellishments as the opposite side. To match my previous scene, I also added Idea-ology Filmstrip Ribbon but this time, a white paper flower.

I again started with a 7" wooden slice as my base.
