How to add texture and interest to your mixed media projects with rice paper
I know we all say that putting rice paper on to a white background makes it "pop" but it also works really well with a coloured background too. I am using Ciao Bella Paper Black Swan rice papers for this project.
A4 mixed media canvas idea combining rice papers with scrapbook papers.

I began by adding DecoArt acrylic paint to my primed canvas. I have used a mix of soft blue, pink & purple. I added the paint to go diagonally across the canvas.
Using a mix of different sized papers, I cut out lots of different images that I thought would work with my background. These were layered on to the canvas with gel medium.
Once the gel medium was dry, I covered everything in another coat of mod podge. I used the matt on the background layers & gloss on the images. I love the contrast between the two.
