Shady Designs Round & Round Collection
When I introduced the Shady Designs Round & Round Collection, I wanted to do something different and created a collection of different A4 rice papers. They had all the layering qualities that are associated with Shady Designs but also work with my Shady Designs Layering Circle stamp set.
Here is a "snap shot" of the 5 different rice paper designs found in the Shady Designs Round & Round rice paper selection.- - - - - 💙 - - - - -
Where to begin? Step by step guide.
- Add areas of colour to your background in different places. I used Picked Raspberry oxide with a blending brush.
- With the same colour, use Shady Designs Hanging Garden stencil in the same colour & same inky areas.
- Next spritz the stencil with water - as we have lots of ink left on the stencil - turn stencil over and "dab" in the same areas.
- Take one of your rice papers (from Shady Designs Round & Round Rice paper Collection ). Next "pull out" one of the designs with either a paint brush & water or a water brush. Add to either side of your page with medium of choice.
- Once rice paper layer is dry, add extra layers using Shady Designs A7 Inner Circle background stamp in a complimentary colour. I have used Abandoned Coral oxide ink.
- Now to add colour to some of the rice paper elements. I have used my Personal Impressions Woodless Water Colour Pencils but other colouring mediums would work too.
- As an "added extra", add some green splats over your page. I have used Twisted Citron watered down.
- On another piece of card, stamp out the main focal image from Shady Designs Layering Circle stamp set stamp set and cut out. Also stamp out the bottom flowers from the same stamp only. Cut all these out.
- Add the larger stamped piece to top left of your page, over lapping the rice paper element. The other stamped image will be added to the other rice paper element (on right side of your page).
- I felt that something was missing, so added additional stamping using numbers background stamp, (from Shady Designs Layering Circle), in Picked Raspberry oxide.
- Final thing to do is add your quote or sentiment of choice. I chose one from the Shady Designs Make A Start Card Kit.
... and now your art journal page is completed!
