Tonic Studios Tiny Treasure Tome die set - Box card with trays

Tonic Studios recently had a wonderful "One Day Wonder" called "Tiny Treasured Tome" which creates the most beautiful little box and cover. However don't be fooled by the finished projects size as there are so many things you can do with the dies to create larger projects.

This time I have used the drawer part of the die set to create drawers within a box, which opens up on itself. For the life of me, I cannot remember the correct name for this time of fold, so if you know, please do let me know so I can correct my ambiguous title.

MY PROJECT

To ensure that I had the folds in the correct place, I made my drawers first & decorated them. From a piece of A4 white card I scored at 7cm, 14cm, 21cm, & 28cm. I now have a small flap to help the box close when shut. Using DP, I decorated all these panels too.

Next, I had to decide how far down to place the top box. I wanted the drawer to be able to hold an object or even choclates without impeding the lid. Once I made my decision, I stuck it in place with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

I then moved to the bottom drawer, sticking it in place at the very bottom of the panel. This creates a sturdy point when the box is open. After I had these two boxes in place, I positioned the middle tray in place. To do this, I measured the gap between the trays I had already stuck in place, & halved the measurement. Using a pencil, I drew a faint gluing line.

The final panel, I have left white which is a place that you can write your greeting on. I used the small hearts die within the Tiny Treasured Tome collection to add detail to this panel. I made a square lid 7cm wide on each side and decorating it to match.

TINY TREASURED TOME PROJECTS

I have create 6 other different projects using the Tiny Treasured Tome and no two are alike. I really wanted to push the dies and see how much crafty versatility they really had. My other projects are below. Click on the photos to be taken to the relevant blog posts.

I hope I am inspirig you to use your dies in a completely different way to their intend task. What are you going to make first when you receive your dies?
